What is sotra?

sotra is an AI-powered tool that helps you understand your insurance. You upload your policy documents, and sotra reads them for you — summarising what's covered, comparing policies, and flagging exclusions or gaps that are easy to miss in the fine print.

Is sotra giving me insurance or legal advice?

No. sotra is an informational tool only. It is not insurance advice, legal advice, or financial advice. The authoritative source of your coverage is always your actual policy and your insurer. Use sotra to understand your policy faster — but verify anything important with your insurer before you rely on it.

How accurate is the analysis?

sotra is built with multiple checks to make its analysis as reliable as possible, but because it's generated automatically, it can still contain errors or miss something. Treat it as a smart first read, not the final word. Always confirm important details against your actual policy document.


Documents and uploads

What documents can I upload?

You can upload insurance policy documents in PDF format. You can upload up to 5 documents at a time, and each file can be up to 10 MB.

What kinds of insurance does sotra support?

sotra is designed to work with a wide range of insurance policies — home, vehicle, travel, and more. If something doesn't analyse well, it helps us improve, so feedback is welcome.

Can I upload policies that aren't in English?

The sotra interface is in English, and your analysis is presented in English. sotra is designed to understand the meaning of a policy regardless of the language it's written in, so you can upload policies written in other languages too.


Your data and privacy

Who can see my documents?

Your documents are private to your account. No human at sotra reads them as part of normal operation — they are processed automatically to generate your analysis. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

Is my data used to train AI models?

No. The text of your documents is sent to our AI provider only to generate your analysis, and we do not send your email, IP address, or account identifier with it. Your documents are not used to train models. See the Privacy Policy for details on how this works.

Where is my data stored?

Your account data and documents are stored on infrastructure located in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). Some processing (such as the AI analysis and sending emails) involves providers in the United States; this is explained in our Privacy Policy.

Do you sell my data?

No. We never sell your personal data and we don't share it with advertisers. We also don't use any advertising or tracking cookies.

How do I delete my data?

You can delete your account at any time from within the Service. This removes your uploaded files, their extracted text, and your analyses. See our Privacy Policy for what deletion covers.

Can I download a copy of my data?

If you'd like a copy of your data, contact us at [TBD — privacy@sotra.ai] and we'll provide it in a commonly used electronic format.


Account and access

How do I sign in?

You can create an account and sign in using your email and a password, or with your Google or Apple account.

Do I need to pay to use sotra?

sotra is currently free to use, within usage limits. If we add paid plans, we'll show the pricing clearly before you sign up for anything.
